DAZZLING DAHLIAS SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

2019 Dazzling Dahlias Show Highlights

The 12th Annual Dazzling Dahlias Show was a spectacular event, with 740 visitors (the most ever), 821 blooms, and 2,019 smiles! Jesse Peterson’s magnificent blooms won King of the Show, Queen of the Show, Prince of the Show, Princess of the Show, Largest in Show (“OMG”), and Best in Show. Stephen Ruttkamp stole the show with his divine baskets, winning Best Grand Slam Basket and Best Basket. He also so generously created a beautiful basket for the door prize, won by Suzanne Stockman.

Left to right, Dazzling Dahlias Show co-chairs: Lisa Moser, Barbara Collier and Bharti Chojar

The American Dahlia Society introduced a new form this year, “Micro”, for which another two awards were added to the Court of Honor. In addition, the Greenwich Dahlia Society introduced a Court of Honor award for the novice with the most blue ribbons, “Blue Ribbon Trophy”. It was won by Lois Baylis from the Garden Club of Darien.

We so appreciate all exhibitors, sponsors, volunteers, and the public for making it such fun. A very special thank you goes out to Barbara Collier, Lisa Moser, and Bharti Chojar for their tireless contributions as co-chairs of this year’s amazing show!
