We carry a powerful camera with us everywhere we go, and this class will teach you how to make the best use of it to capture the natural world all around you. Join local, award-winning photographer Anne Friday for this hands-on, 2-hour workshop designed to help you see the natural world through a new lens (literally). Anne will share her techniques for composing striking shots, working with natural light, and capturing the small details that make nature photography sing from individual floral petals to sweeping garden vistas.
You'll also learn simple, effective ways to enhance your photos right on your phone, turning quick snapshots into images you'll be proud to share. Whether you're a beginner or looking to level up your skills, this class will change the way you look at and photograph the natural world. All you need is your iPhone and a sense of curiosity. Participants are welcome and encouraged to bring some sample images on their phones for discussion and feedback.

Anne Friday has been a passionate photographer since she was given her first camera at the age of ten. With black and white spool film and flash bulbs she took portraits of her five younger siblings, and when color film became widely available she headed out to her mother’s gardens.
Her work has been shown in numerous galleries and won many awards. In addition to garden photography, portraits, landscapes and abstracts, she is also known for her concert photography. She still shoots film and has several DSLRs, and dozens of lenses, but more recently her “focus” has been on iPhone photography. She loves exploring all of the editing options and creative techniques that are right at our fingertips. She has been teaching classes and leading workshops for over fifteen years. She offers private instruction in both iPhone and traditional photography. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with aspiring photographers.
Anne is a member of a local garden club where she has chaired the photography committee for over twenty years. She holds a national role in the Garden Club of America and is a member of their judging program. In the past year she has won four Best in Shows, The GCA Creativity Award, and over a dozen First Place Ribbons in national competition. In February she was awarded “Best of Blues”, the top prize in Philadelphia, the largest flower show in the world.
