Come learn how to draw seasonal fruit with pan pastels and colored pencils with Jeanne Reiner. Pan pastel is a relatively new medium. It has all the vibrancy of pastel without mess. Students will also learn light on form, how to illustrate texture and color blending.
Materials will be provided: pan pastels (colors TBD) colored pencils, graphite pencils, pencil sharpener and eraser, inexpensive brush and cotton swabs. Drawing and tracing paper, small plastic ruler and/or dividers.
Jeanne Reiner, a graduate of the Philadelphia's University of the Arts and the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, will teach the class. After leading an accomplished corporate design career, Jeanne has been a fine artist and teacher for over 20 years. She studied at SUNY Purchase, Silvermine Arts Center and and received her certification as a botanical artist at the New York Botanical Garden in May 2014. She is the co-founder of the Tri-State Botanical Artists of New York Botanical Garden where she is also an instructor. She is currently serving as a board member of the American Society of Botanical Artists. She has been named, in 2021, a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists in the United Kingdom.
