Flowers are among watercolor’s most inspiring subjects, teaching artists lessons in delicacy, restraint, structure, and color control. In this hands-on workshop, artist Greta Corens will guide participants through observing and painting flowers while exploring the forms and rhythms that make each bloom unique. Students will examine common flower structures—comparing forms such as lilies and anemones—and discover how careful study can lead to more expressive work.
The class will move from focused observation and studies to a more interpretive floral painting, helping participants develop both confidence and artistic voice. Held in GBC’s gallery, the workshop takes place amid Greta Corens’ own floral watercolor exhibit, offering participants the rare opportunity to study and paint while surrounded by the artist’s work.
All supplies are provided (brushes, paint and palettes), just bring your curiosity and willingness to learn.
There will be a first watercolor session with Greta on April 11, called Condensed Watercolor Foundations: Preparing to Paint Flowers, under our Program Calendar. Students can sign up for either workshop or both, and you don't need to take the first to join the second. Ages 18+
