Volunteer & Outreach

Volunteering at the Greenwich Botanical Center is a great way to expand your knowledge of plants, give back to your community, share your talents, and make new friends.

Senior Outreach

The GBC has been providing Outreach projects to several local Senior facilities since 1992. With the help of our Horticulture Building volunteers, the GBC provides horticultural outreach activities to 150 participants from October to March. The goal of this program is to promote wellness, education and engagement for our community.

GBC currently provides programs for: The Mews, Greenwich Senior Center, The Nathaniel Witherell, Pathways, Inc. and Greenwich Adult Day Center.

Youth Outreach

Give back to our community through Youth Outreach. We provide environmental enrichment activities year round onsite and offsite through school / scout field trips, high school internships, After’s programs, school/community garden guidance and Teaching Vegetable Garden activities.

Greenhouse volunteers are the largest and most active group of volunteers at the GBC. Each volunteer works in the greenhouse once a week for 3 hours; some conduct outreach programs with senior citizens while others volunteer for special events or assist with horticultural classes and trips.
